In a strategic effort to increase youth programming in boys and girls basketball in the southeastern portion of the United States, the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) is partnering with the Competitive Youth Basketball League USA (CYBL-USA) again in 2017.

The CYBL-USA’s inaugural season saw a wide variety of success. By hosting five AAU licensed events in 2016 across Florida, Georgia, Alabama and Mississippi, the CYBL-USA was able to attract more than 450 unique teams to their events and 600 total teams participated across all five events.

“The AAU is extremely excited about continuing this outstanding partnership with the CYBL-USA,” said James Parker, AAU Director of Sport. “The CYBL-USA gives our members a unique opportunity to participate in affordable and regionally competitive events across eight states in 2017.”

In 2017, the CYBL-USA will be hosting 14 AAU licensed events across Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Tennessee, Arkansas and Texas. The common goal between the AAU and CYBL-USA is increasing opportunities for youth athletes to participate in quality events where they can face never-before-seen competition.
