SUMMER COACHES APPROVAL - ALL BENCH PERSONNEL
All individuals who engage in coaching activities at a NCAA-certified girls summer basketball event must be approved through the NCAA Coaches' Approval Process. NCAA staff members who are employed at a summer event are not required to complete this process, but all other individuals, including high school, junior college and prep school coaches are required to obtain the requisite approval.
The approval process consists of an application, criminal background verification, an authorization for release of information and an NCAA rules educational component.
NCAA BASKETBALL CERTIFICATION SYSTEM - TEAM ROSTER
All teams participating at a NCAA certified event must register online prior to participating in the event. Coaches are expected to keep their online rosters updated. The same address and telephone number cannot be utilized for multiple athletes. Failure to register or to submit all required information will result in the team being denied participation in all NCAA certified events.
Reminder: After you register your team and enter your roster, you need to check off which certified events you will be attending. Be sure to click on our tournament name so that we have access to your roster. Coaches are expected to keep their online rosters updated.

Adjoining State Rule for NCAA Certified Events
(8th, 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th grade National Championships and Super Showcase Events)
In April 2010, legislation was adopted that would require women’s teams participating in an NCAA-certified event to meet the same residency restrictions that have applied to the men’s teams since 2005. The effective date of the legislation is September 1, 2010. This means that all teams participating in NCAA-certified fall events must be made up of individuals that reside either within the same state as the team’s official address or within a geographically adjoining state AND with not more than three prospects from adjoining states participating on any one team.
Additional information about this requirement can be found with the following links:
CONTACT WITH NCAA COACHES - NCAA coaches are prohibited from having contact with a prospect or the prospect's parents, family, coaches, and/or any other individual associated with the prospect as a result of his/her participation in basketball.
